Your 2026 dental benefits end December 31: what to check now

Most plans reset on January 1 and unused benefits don’t carry over. A five-minute check now can save you money.

If you have dental insurance through work, your plan probably resets on January 1. Whatever is left of your yearly maximum disappears, and your deductible starts over.

Five things to check

Call the number on your insurance card, or ask Renee to look it up, and find out: how much of your yearly maximum you’ve used, whether your deductible is met, whether you’re due for a cleaning and exam (most plans cover two a year), whether any treatment we’ve already planned can be done before the end of the year, and whether you have flexible spending money that expires.

Book early

December fills up. We’re holding extra Wednesday evening times and a longer Saturday on December 19. Call us at (585) 555-0142 and we’ll find a time.
