Same-day emergency visits
Toothache? Call us first.
We keep time open every day for emergencies, and we’ll see you today if you call while we’re open.
Call now. A person answers.
During office hours, call (585) 555-0142. After hours, nights, weekends and holidays, call our emergency line at (585) 555-0143 and a dentist from our team calls you back, usually within the hour.
What happens when you call
You don’t have to be a patient.
- 1
Tell us what’s wrong
A toothache, a broken or knocked-out tooth, a lost filling or crown, swelling or a bad bite. Jamal asks a few questions on the phone. Please don’t send details by email or through the website.
- 2
Get a time today
During office hours we see you the same day, usually within a few hours. We’ll tell you what to do until then.
- 3
See what’s wrong
An exam and one X-ray: $75 without insurance, and no extra charge for Smile Club members. We show you the problem and your options.
- 4
Your choice, in writing
We treat what we can that day if you’d like us to, and quote anything bigger before we begin.

At home
What to do until we see you
A few things you can do at home. They’re no substitute for a visit, so call us first.
- Rinse gently with warm water, and floss in case something is stuck
- Hold a cold compress on your cheek, 15 minutes at a time
- Keep the pieces of a broken tooth in a clean container
- For a knocked-out tooth, hold it by the crown, rinse it without scrubbing, keep it in milk and come within 30 minutes if you can
- Take pain relievers as the label directs, if your doctor says they’re right for you
When to go to the emergency room instead
Go to the nearest emergency room, or call 911, for swelling that spreads toward your eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a fever with facial swelling, bleeding that doesn’t stop after 10 minutes of pressure, or a jaw or facial injury after a fall or an accident. Then call us, and we’ll see you for your teeth afterward.
